Sampling: A blood sample is usually drawn from a vein in the arm using sterile techniques by a health professional. Procedure: Sample collection: The area is disinfected, a tourniquet is placed to increase blood pressure, and the sample is drawn into a suitable test tube. Storage and shipping: The sample is stored and sent to the laboratory for analysis. Laboratory analysis: Spectrophotometry or chromatography techniques are used to determine the concentration of chromium present in the blood sample. Interpretation of results: Results show blood chromium levels and are compared to established reference ranges to determine if they are within normal limits or indicate unusual chromium exposure.
